We have all been somewhat frustrated at the slow release of level cap, as sad as it is, a lot of players have simply stopped logging in. Nexon tries to remedy this by launching a simple event that will reward you with items if you just simply logged in.

Between the days of September 16 – September 27, just by logging in you will be rewarded the following:

· Daily Login Prize: Five Crude Onyxes
· Five Day Login Milestone Prize: 10 Small Octagonal Waters
· Ten Day Login Milestone Prize: Adventurer’s Bag (5 slots) and Extra Storage (5 slots)

Note: Days do not have to be consecutive to count towards the milestones.

Login every day of the event and you’ll earn 60 Crude Onyxes, 10 Small Octagonal Waters, Adventurer’s Bag (5 slots) and Extra Storage (5 slots) just for being there!

Rewards will be distributed to all eligible characters once the event period ends.

Meanwhile, Alteris has announced that they have been working on 2 new zones, Blackguard Stronghold and Black Mines.

According to the players, these are indeed zones in the next town – Saint Haven. With this we can well expect the release of level 32 cap and much more. Combining this with the roll call event, it is relatively likely the estimated release date of the new content will be around September 27. We will all be looking very much forward to this!

Finally, there was a new payment system added to purchase NX, with it comes a short promotion if you buy in bulk. If you’re planning on spending a chunk of cash on Dragon Nest in the near future, now is a good time to stock up on some bonus NX.

Greetings players,

Looking for a convenient way to get NX Prepaid? Want to make your cash go farther? For one month only, when you use PayByCash you’ll earn bonus NX!

How to Participate

From September 16 – October 16, when you use PayByCash to charge a total of $30 or $100, at the end of the event period you’ll receive bonus NX – free! Head to the Purchase NX page to get started.

PayByCash is a wire transfer service available worldwide. For more information about this method of payment, see the NX Guide.

When

September 16 – October 16

What

Charge a total of $30 via PayByCash and receive a bonus NX 3,000
Charge a total of $100 via PayBycash and receive a bonus NX 20,000!

Note: Bonus NX will be distributed to eligible Nexon accounts on October 19. Eligibility will be determined based on total accumulated amount charged during the event period. Every account is eligible for only one bonus, and only the highest earned bonus will be rewarded.

While we have enjoyed a good amount of the PvP in Dragon Nest since last patch, the players are craving for release of new content and level cap!

Although we were unable to get a lift on our character’s level cap, we are granted with a ton of new content on this patch.

The highlights of this patch leads off with a “PvP Ladder” to list the best of the PvPers. Next, a new tab will be added on the channel selection screen that will have all the new Edge of Darkness dungeons for us to explore. Furthermore, Faire Dungeons join the list with many interesting game aspects to offer: Boss Rush, Treasure Run, Danger Dash and Daredevil Derby just to name a few!

And finally, to wrap things up, how can we forget the lovely Dragon Vault? There will be many new items added in the Vault for the players fancy to spend few.

For those that like things with details, we have quoted the full patch note below for you to read:

New challenges await, Adventurers, as the Edge of Darkness, Daredevil Fair and the PvP Ladder open up for all players!

See what’s happening:

Edge of Darkness: Jealous Atrium

The Rozin Sanctuary is a hidden place where the Priestesses of Darkness use ancient powers to keep the corruption of the Goddess Altea from further damaging the world. In recent days however, the seals that they use to keep the Goddess’ nightmares from seeping into the world have begun to weaken, letting untold horrors creep into reality. Now the Priestesses have put out a call for mighty adventurers to assist them in keeping the door between reality and nightmare closed.

Accessing Rozin Sanctuary

• Players must be level 15 to access the Rozin Sanctuary.
• Players can reach the Rozin Sanctuary by selecting the [Edge of Darkness] tab on the channel list, then the [Rozin Sanctuary] channel.

Earlier today, Nexon announced the extension of Open Beta Test. This decision will ensure the quality of the game on release as well as give the casual players more time to reach level cap (24) before the end of beta. However, for the more committed players who’ve been level 24 since the 2nd or 3rd day of Open Beta, this spells great disappointment.

Dear Players,

Thanks to everyone for making the Dragon Nest Open Beta a huge success. We are extending the open beta to continue to work on many aspects of the game. During this extension we will continue to update the game so our players can further test new content in Dragon Nest! Once we are closer to completing our testing, we will inform players when the open beta will be completed.

Thank you once again for your participation in our open beta.

Keep testing fans!

In addition, the Wings event announced previously had its requirement changed. You no longer have to worry about missing a day or two of the requirement. This will sure breathe a sign of relief for many players.

Due to some unscheduled maintenances over the last few days, the Open Beta “Spread Your Wings” event has been extended, and the requirements have changed.

Who is eligible:

• Level 24 characters that logged in and cleared at least 3 dungeons daily for at least 11 days between July 26 and August 10, 2011 at 11:59 PM Pacific.

• A pair of PERMANENT Loyal Dragon Wings will be given to qualified characters after August 10, 2011.

Lastly, Nexon is giving out double experience and loot on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week as an apology to the unscheduled maintenances we have had recently.

Due to some unscheduled maintenances over the last few days, Dragon Nest was intermittently unavailable. To compensate players for this downtime, enjoy two bonus EXP/drop events!

Here is a brief summery of our last weeks community tips!

If you missed it, we are running the contest again this week, simply go to this thread for details and you might be our next 10k NX winner.

Do ‘em side quests

Make sure you grab the side quests you find in town. This game is designed so that if you skip all the side quests, you will be unable to progress on your main quests due to level restrictions on the mainline quests. At which point you will have to choose between grinding or doing the side blue quests so why not do them along side the main quest to save time.

Easy grinding 18-24

One of the easiest way to level from 18-24 is to spam Astral Coven Laboratory – giant spider boss! It is a very short, very easy map which you can finish on Master difficulty within 5 minutes and gain an easy 10% exp per run even past level 20. Do not kill the small white spiders. They don’t need to be killed to keep going on.

If it doesn’t look useful, it probably isn’t

Items that are white and don’t have a meaningful description are usually so called “vendor trash” which you can feel free to sell to any npc for it’s shop value. It’s painful to see them listed on the Marketplace only to expire within 12 hours and waste a precious Market listing slot.

Commission rewards are trash!

When you do a commission, don’t open the bags, resell them unopened. SO much more money that way.

Use your Revives

Everyday you are giving 5 blue hearts (under your character’s portrait), these are free dungeon revives. Seeing how they don’t stack up past 5, there are no point saving them. Try to use them before you use cashshop potions.

Use Marketplace

When you need items like Crude Onyx or Crude Diamond, you can sometimes find it for much cheaper than its worth! Even if you don’t need them, buy them and resell them for higher. You can sell almost anything in the marketplace. Although there is a limit of 30, it will reset every week (on Sunday). You can make a fortune, especially selling Crude items.

A Penny saved is a penny not spent?

Save up. Throw a % of your gold into the storage for example if after a days run you end with 10-30g throw about 15 of that into the storage, gold in the storage will be *forgotten* and thus you will be a lot less tempted to buy things with it. Before you know it, you will have a small fortune to spend on that rainy day (Epics cough…).

Titles are good mmky

Titles play a big role in Dragon Nest, you can obtain the best title in Open Beta is called Almost won the Lotto. This title gives +25 Attack, +25 Magic Attack, +500 HP and +300 MP. To obtain this title, you need 1000g and a full set of +7 gear. This can be achieved easily by getting a loan from a friend or guildie and finding a set of +8 greens.

How to save your skill reset

When you finish your class change, you will normally get a skill reset that expires in 7 days. If you skip the last part of the quest (talking to Irine), you will still be able to finish your class change while saving your skill reset scroll for the future.

Greetings players!

Due to overwhelming positive response, we’ve addied a new West server “Elena” for Dragon Nest. This should improve the overcrowding and improve performance in towns and dungeons in the game.

New and existing players alike will be able to enjoy an additional 10% experience boost when adventuring in the new West coast world Elena. This experience boost will last until the end of Open beta.

Also, these event rewards have been awarded:
- R2G hat has been awarded to all characters that have logged in between July 26 and August 2.
- Dragon Nest Pioneer title has been awarded to all characters that completed the Closed Beta event and logged in between July 26 and August 2.

And we’d like to remind all players who have logged in and played Dragon Nest have been awarded scales on a daily basis. More details can be found here.

All items purchased with scales will remain on your character even after Open Beta. Any unspent scales will expire so make sure to spend them before it’s too late!

Also be sure to check our Open Beta Launch Center if you need to get started with Dragon Nest!

Stay tuned for updates, and enjoy your time in Dragon Nest!

If you are a competitive gamer, you naturally will want to stay ahead of the curve. Below are some top tips for Open Beta to help you stay ahead and pimped out!

Enhance yo gears!

As mentioned in previous guides, it is extremely important to make sure you take the time to enhance your gear and unlock their secret stats. If you haven’t read them yet, make sure you check out our low level enhance guide and enchant guide.

Abyss is for show, Master is where it’s at!

All the talk about Abyss difficulty is for nothing! Master mode gives almost as good exp, is much easier to complete with 2-3 players and most importantly, equipment / rare item drops way more often. Do yourself a favor and stick to Master mode and you will find your bags full of excessive greenies and blues to wear, enhance and sell. Note that this applies to dungeons level 10-18, further testing needed to confirm for higher level dungeons.

Crude Onyx

Yes, this item deserves it’s own tip. Do not purchase them for 1 or more gold! After level 16 all the dungeons you encounter will drop them almost as much as the Onyx Fragments that you were so tired of at low levels. Keep in mind that it is best to spend them on upgrades that will affect you the most first. In order of importance, it is recommended to craft blue Crests (crest guide), Enhance Weapon, Secondary Weapon, then finally Armor. It is also important to note that level 16 Blue equipment fail at reasonable frequency from +5 to +6. So it is better to upgrade all your equipment first to +5 then go for +6.

Position Position

Here’s a combat tip, if you’re having a hard time dealing with big groups of monsters, try to learn their movement and special attacks. Once you are mindful of it, you can now avoid the hard hits that stuns or staggers with side steps and clean up the mobs with ease. This is especially important when it comes to boss attacks that does massive damage, as most of them can be avoided easily if you dodge during the start-up animation.

Market List Management

As you may have noticed, there are extreme limitations to the amount of listings allow per player on the in game Marketplace. Not only can you only list 5 listings at the same time, there is a limit of 30 total per day! This is quite troublesome for the active marketeer and if you have followed the Master tip, you will find it quite annoying trying to sell all your excessive items after each dungeon run. There are a couple ways to get around this. First, we encourage you to actively post your premium items on our Marketplace. Not only is it fee free but you can also post as many as you want. Secondly, you can enhance all the excessive gears to +8 first before selling them. This way, you will score a higher price for the item and save space because a majority of the items you enhance will not make it to +8.
